The Asics 2170 has some nice modifications over the previous 2160. It is a high mileage, stability trainer, w/ 10mm drop.

Scott ERide AF Support Trainer 1st Impressions
This is Scott’s most supportive training shoe to date. Pound for pound, this high-mileage, aggressively supportive, stability shoe seems ready to stand up against even the likes of the Brooks Adrenaline. And it weighs less than most of the other shoes in it’s class. Bookmark on Delicious Digg this post Recommend on Facebook share via [...]

This isn’t just a light-weight performance trainer. It’s a neutral, high-mileage, light weight, training shoe that feels like a light weight performance trainer but has the cushion of a high end cushion shoe. Have logged 150 miles in these shoes in just under 3 weeks (about 50/50 roads and trails). The 2100 series have always been my favorite high mileage shoe, and I was curious how I would adjust to the 10mm versus the 12mm drop. To this point no issues with my Achilles or arch. The shoe allows for some good pop on the roads and plenty of support on trails. It holds a bit of mud and snow when trails and roads get sloppy. Overall I’m really pleased with the 2170.
Well we’ll have to get your pretty face on the camera to let people know.
